Joe Madera grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts, but now calls Plymouth his home. While earning his undergraduate degree, Joe acquired a summer job at a camp in his hometown and quickly took to the opportunity to work with children/teens in a creative and outdoor setting. In the summers that followed, Joe worked his way up to become the camp’s Program Director and eventually changed his career path into education.
Joe’s experience as a camp director lead him to overseeing an educational non-profit child care program with multiple summer camps and after-school programs. It was the connection he made supporting and working with the kids and families at the program which lead him to eventually pursue his Master’s Degree in Counseling at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
Upon getting married, Joe and his wife relocated to the South Shore of Massachusetts where he has been a high school Guidance Counselor, as well as high school cross country and lacrosse coach, ever since.
A proud and happy husband and father of two beautiful girls, Joe enjoys spending time with his family and is always excited to spend his summer at the Sagamore Beach Colony Club Day Camp!
