  Qualify and Benefit from Microsoft Co-op Marketing Funds  
  The OEM Cooperative Marketing Fund (Co-op) has been conceptualized to reward partners who demonstrate a commitment to pre-installing genuine Microsoft software on systems or servers. Eligible business associates can use the Co-op to obtain reimbursement of a portion of the costs associated with qualifying demand generation, market development and readiness activities.

Demand Generation 100 Activities with broad reach and audience size that are measurable and defined typically associated with traditional advertising activities in support of the sale of genuine Microsoft based systems. Advertising: print, direct mail, online, TV, radio, outdoor c/o third party.

Activity conducted within usage period (1January to 30 June 2009)

Market Development (MDF) 100 Marketing and business development initiatives that support the sale of genuine Microsoft based systems. Typically these marketing and advertising activities are designed for a specific customer audience. Trade shows, events, seminars, telemarketing, sponsorships, customer offers, online or e- commerce, promotional retail displays. Activity conducted within usage period (1January to 30 June 2009)and after MDF plan approval
Partner Readiness 100% Expenses related to Microsoft training, technical certification, and program fees that promote the development of Microsoft technology expertise. MSPP registration fees, WHQL fees, partner exam fees, Microsoft conference registration fees, Microsoft training tuition fees, Microsoft certification exam fees. Activity conducted within 12 months before claim date.
 
     
  Co-op Eligibility Requirements for System Builders  
To participate in Co-op Marketing Fund, System Builders must meet all the 3 criteria listed below: The minimum purchase requirement must be met in at least one product family for eligibility. Funds are accrued for each product family where the minimum purchase requirement is made, as given below.
 

Criteria 1 (Purchase Requirement)

 
  Obtain a net minimum of Microsoft COEM products from 1 July to 31 December 2008:  
 
Windows 500 units
Microsoft Office 400 units
Windows Server 70 units
 
     
 

Criteria 2

 
  Active status member in the Microsoft Partner Program as of 31 December 2008  
     
  Criteria 3  
  Technical Requirements - Meet any ONE of the following technical requirements as reported in the Partner Membership center (PMC) as of 30 September 2008.  
 
Have Active or Qualified status in the OEM Hardware solutions competency
Have a system that has passed the “Designed for Windows” logos program testing through the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) in the last 24 months.
Have Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) status by employing or contracting with an individual who has passed the pre-installation Assessment Exam 74-134, or any one of the following Exams: 70-271, 70-272, 70-282, 70-290, 70-620, 70-621, 70-623, 70-624, 70-625
 
     
  How to accrue Co-op Marketing Fund?  
  Co-op Marketing Funds accrue during each fiscal half year period during which partners meet the eligibility requirements of the Co-op. Participating partners may have these accrued funds available for claiming and reimbursement in the following fiscal half-year period (1 January to  30 June 2009) in accordance with published Co-op guidelines.
